When is Lacunza Summer Camp 2009?
Camp begins Sunday, June 28th and ends Saturday August 1st, 2009.
Half Day and Day Camp programmes begin on any of the following Mondays: June 29th, July 6th, July 13th, or July 20th.
These programmes may finish on any of the following Fridays: July 10th, July 17th, July 24th or July 31st.
Overnight programmes begin on any of the following Sundays: June 28th, July 5th, July 12th, July19th.
These programmes may finish on any of the following Saturdays: July 12, July 19, July 26 or August 2.
Who can participate in Lacunza Summer Camp?
Our camp is for kids between 7 and 15 years of age who want to learn languages, meet new people and have fun!
How long are Lacunza Summer Camp courses?
The minimum course duration is 2 weeks and the maximum is 5 weeks.
What are the different programmes at Lacunza Summer Camp?
We offer three types of courses:
- Half Day (Monday - Friday, 09:30 - 14:00). Classes + morning activity. Lunch and afternoon activities not included.
- Full Day (Monday - Friday, 09:30 - 19:30). Classes + morning activity + lunch + afternoon activities and excursions. Dinner not included.
- Overnight (Sunday- Saturday, 24 hours). Includes full room and board, classes, all activities and excursions, special weekend programme, internet, theme nights, etc.
Where is Lacunza Summer Camp located?
The camp is located in the Spanish province of Guipuzcoa in the mountain town of Urnieta, just 8 kilometres from San Sebastian.
For students participating in Half Day or Day Camp programmes, Lacunza Summer Camp provides a private bus transfer service from the city centre to the camp location and back each day.
The bus schedule during the week will be as follows:
Pick-up: Monday to Friday, at 08:40 from Plaza de Guipuzcoa, 08:50 Pio XII (Amara Plaza), 08:55 - 09:05 Antiguo (Hotel Costa Vasca, Antiguo Osakidetza, Errotaburu) continuing on to the camp.
Return for Half Day students: Monday to Friday, departing from camp at 14:00, arriving at 14:15 - 14:25 in Antiguo (Errotaburu, Esclavas, Hotel Costa Vasca), 14:30 Pio XII (Amara Plaza) and 14:35 Plaza de Guipuzcoa.
Return for Day Camp students: Monday to Friday, departing from camp at 19:20, arriving at 19:30 - 19:40 in Antiguo (Errotaburu, Esclavas, Hotel Costa Vasca), 19:45 Pio XII (Amara Plaza) and 19:50 Plaza de Guipuzcoa.
A camp monitor will be present on the bus at all times. The price of this service is 35 Euros per week per child.
How does one arrive to Lacunza Summer Camp?
One can fly to San Sebastian Airport from Madrid or Barcelona. The Bilbao Airport is located only 1 hour from San Sebastian and receives connections from London, Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels, Milan, Geneva, Dublin and many other european cities. Biarritz Airport is located 30 minutes from San Sebastian and is very convenient when traveling from Paris, London - Stansted and Dublin.
By train, San Sebastian is located on the route from Paris - Madrid. The TGV connects us with Paris in 6 hours and with Madrid in 5 hours.
There are also buses that connect to San Sebastian from all major Spanish and European cities and a car ferry that connects Portsmouth with Bilbao two times a week.
Does Lacunza Summer Camp organise student pick-ups from the surrounding airports, train stations and bus stations?
The camp offers a transfer service from Bilbao airport between the hours of 10:00 and 18:00. This transfer cost 50 Euros. If interested in reserving a transfer from a different airport, please fill out the necessary information on the registration form and we will inform you of any additional costs.
How does one register for Lacunza Summer Camp?
The online registration form can be found and completed on this website by clicking here! The form can be found in the Prices and Dates menu. The registration form is also included in our brochure. A free brochure can be requested by sending an e-mail to info@lacunzacamp.com. Please include a mailing address or an e-mail address so that we may send the information as soon as possible.
Once the registration form has been completed, the following items must be sent to us so that we may complete the reservation:
- 2 ID/Passport size pictures
- Photocopy of health insurace policy and/or card
- A 250 € deposit must be made to secure enrolment
- Copy of the deposit receipt
The enrolment will be confirmed by telephone call or by e-mail.
Once confirmed and when the starting dates are closer, we will send a dossier containing the following information:
- School address
- Student drop-off and pick-up times
- How to arrive
- Contact telephone numbers
- Emergency telephone number
- What materials to bring
- Terms and rules at the camp : use of mobile phones, general behaviour, etc.

More detailed information about Lacunza Summer Camp:
Class timetable:
Monday thru Friday from 09:45 to 11:10 and 11:30 to 12:55.
(Two 90 minute blocks a day totaling 3 hours per day.)
A snack is provided to all students during the 20 minute break time.
Morning activities (13:00 to 14:00):
Arts and crafts, games, etc.
Afternoon activities(15:00 to 19:30):
The first 30 minutes after lunch will be spent relaxing, playing board games, reading, playing ping pong, foozball, etc.
From 15:30 on, students will participate in a variety of sports and activities inside and outside of the camp.
Activities inside of Lacunza Summer Camp:
- Sports: football (soccer), basketball, fronton, etc.
- Games: petanca, Lacunza Olympic Games, water balloon fights, etc.
- Dance classes, juggling courses, traffic safety workshops, theatre, etc.
Activities and excursions outside of Lacunza Summer Camp:

- canoeing
- Tour of San Sebastian
- Beach activities
- Santa Clara Island
- Mount Igeldo Funicular, amusement park and wind combs
- Aquarium
